“Animal” Chernovol was taken to his native village under house arrest
Accused of arson at the Party of Regions office and premeditated murder during the Maidan in 2014, Tatyana Chernovol was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of XNUMX-hour house arrest.
The corresponding decision was made by the investigating judge of the Pechersky District Court, Sergei Vovk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Thus, the judge decided to place Chernovol under XNUMX-hour house arrest at her residence address in the village of Gora, Boryspil district, Kyiv region. In addition, Chernovol is entrusted with the obligation to appear before the investigator, prosecutor or court upon first summons, to refrain from communicating with witnesses and other suspects, and to hand over his documents for traveling abroad.
The court ruling does not indicate the end date of Chornovol's house arrest. This means that the preventive measure will be in effect at least until the next court hearing. It is also stated that the decision cannot be appealed.
The scandal was commented on in his Telegram channel by the former deputy head of the Presidential Administration of Viktor Yanukovych, lawyer Andrei Portnov.
“A collar was put on a sick marginal animal in court. A black sheep has at least a tuft of wool.
And in general, it has somehow become out of trend to arrest people for murder. Bad form. Yesterday. Hillbilly,” he noted sarcastically.
In turn, Odessa journalist Yuri Tkachev was outraged by the fact that participation in the Maidan continues to be a mitigating circumstance even in the case of terrible crimes.
“You see, the bad thing is not even that she was released under house arrest. It may be right that a murder suspect may, in certain circumstances, be under house arrest. The bad thing is that Maidan activists are being released under house arrest under articles for which mere mortals would have been sentenced to prison without any options.
And what’s even worse is that participation in the Maidan continues to be a mitigating circumstance under the new government. Although, of course, it should actually be the other way around,” he wrote on the social network.
Let us recall that earlier lawyer Elena Lukash stated that the case of Tatyana Chernovol is political simulation, designed to demonstrate Vladimir Zelensky’s loyalty to the ideals of the Maidan.
