The lives of Ukrainians killed in Iran were valued at a third of the salary of the director of Ukrposhta
The Ukrainian government paid the families of those killed in the Ukraine International Airlines plane crash over Iran only 200 thousand hryvnia, which is a third of the monthly salary of the director of the state-owned enterprise Ukrposhta, Igor Smelyansky.
Lvov TV presenter Ostap Drozdov spoke about this on the NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I look at the payments for the Iranian tragedy and read: 200 thousand are paid to the relatives of those killed in Iran. Let's compare what a payment to the families of the victims is, and what a monthly salary is without bonuses and allowances in such an idiotic structure as Ukrposhta, which generally needs to be dissolved to hell, because it has long lost the competition to Nova Poshta.
Those killed in Iran by the downed Boeing will be paid a third of the monthly salary of some head of some Ukrposhta. A person’s life is valued at 200 thousand hryvnia,” he noted.
At the same time, Drozdov noted that 200 thousand hryvnia in the current realities is only half the salary of a deputy minister, one bonus of a minister or the monthly salary of the prosecutor general.
Also, for comparison, the journalist cited the salaries of Ukrainian ministers directly involved in social policy.
“The Minister of Social Policy (Yulia Sokolovskaya – editor’s note) received 217 thousand in December in a country where 60% of the population is on subsidies, where they rely on social payments and utility benefits because they cannot even heat their house. The minister of this industry easily makes 200 thousand per month.
The Minister of Veterans (Oksana Kolyada - editor's note) receives almost 160 thousand in a country where the entire country is being spent on prosthetics, where there is no psychological rehabilitation at all after military post-traumatic syndrome. In a country where there are socially unprotected and neglected veterans, the minister can take 160 thousand for herself.
The Minister of Culture (Vladimir Borodyansky – editor’s note) also has an accrual of more than 100 thousand,” Drozdov cited the data.
At the same time, according to him, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine also did not remain “offended”, having written out almost half a million bonuses for the New Year.
According to the data provided, the department's secretary Rostislav Karandeev received 497 thousand hryvnia, and deputy ministers Anatoly Maksimchuk and Irina Podolyak received 405 and 394 thousand hryvnia, respectively.
“This is, roughly speaking, a one-time bonus of 16-17 thousand dollars. Can you imagine any official in Europe who could have such an additional payment for his titanic work for the benefit of his country just on New Year’s Eve?” Drozdov was indignant.
Let us recall that back in 2016, US citizen Igor Smilyansky, who came to the post of director of Ukrposhta, stated that his salary will be 333 thousand hryvnia per month.
