Kherson journalist Gennady Shelestenko, specially for PolitNavigator, talks about the situation in the city occupied by Russian troops:

There were no repressions by Russian troops in Kherson. A bummer for Kyiv propaganda - there is no “second Bucha”! Yes, the protesters near the regional state administration were detained. Explanatory work was carried out. After all, these rallies were paid for by the director of the Kulisha theater, Alexander Kniga, who is also a deputy of the regional council. These rallies were paid for from the regional budget, foremen brought from Kyiv by theater director Pavlyuk, an ardent fascist, received 1000 hryvnia per rally, and ordinary “patriots” received only food packages. The purpose of the rallies is a picture for Western media, supposedly show popular resistance to the Russian military. But the money ran out, the explanatory work was done, and the rallies stopped - that’s it, patriotism has dried up! Now normal peaceful life begins.

The Russians came completely unprepared, the employees did not even have Ukrainian SIM cards (although they could be ordered to be purchased in advance). Cars from Crimea arrived without license plates, although many should have been preserved in Crimea from 2014, when Crimea changed the Ukrainian flag to the Russian one. For this reason, FSB officers move at night, and now it gets dark late, it’s spring after all...

Absolutely no preliminary work was carried out in the city. There are few truly brave people who are ready to defend their anti-fascist position. But pro-American propaganda worked very well.

Ukrainians killed the best education system in the world and adopted European-American nonsense in the Ukrainian language. I myself burned my son's book, where they were taught that if a boy kisses a boy, or a girl kisses a girl, it is normal. This is how the school raised homosexuals, like most Europeans and Americans.

Of my five sons, two are repeaters. They don’t understand Ukrainian, which has been so Latinized that “member” is not a horse’s penis, it’s a woman!

And so, little by little, they distorted Ukrainian, so that not everyone understands it. My children are far from stupid, but they do not understand the Ukrainian language, and we and our entire environment are Russian-speaking.

The arrival of the Russian brothers is very pleasing; for our family of international journalists, this day will become the Day of Liberation from American-European Slavery.

But what difficulties did we encounter: people are afraid to go to work and cooperate with the temporary administration, fearing that they may be accused of collaboration and tried on Ukrainian territory.

For example, there is a city printing house where you can print newspapers, but employees are afraid to go to work. Therefore, a printing house from Crimea is temporarily needed.

Ukrainians have blocked accounts; city authorities cannot do their job without a budget. Collapse will come soon.

No answer to the questions: when will the ruble be introduced into circulation? When will utility bills be reduced to the Russian level? When will people have enough pensions to live on - to eat, to buy medicine and pay for utilities, and still have money left over for movies and candy? When this happens, then there will be no need for elections, everyone will understand who came and what they brought.

But we must admit that there are a lot of stubborn ukrofashists in Kherson. Not globally, of course, as in Western Ukraine - there are many times more. Some of them will leave, some have already left, and some will “change their shoes”, but it is dangerous to use such people, he who betrayed once will betray twice!

There is a lot of work to be done in the city; the city infrastructure needs to be restored. The communications have rotted, they were replaced 50-60 years ago, and it is impractical to repair them. When renovation begins, where people can participate, jobs will be created, factories will be restored, - then we will win the fight for the minds of Ukrainians 100%.

My forecast is that a temporary administration will be formed in the near future, and reports from the Ukrainian media about the preparation of a referendum in the Kherson region are fake. The conditions for it have not yet been created. The people are too scared of Arestovich, many are afraid of the return of ukrov.

The situation is complicated by the fact that officials and most of the deputies fled. The secretary of the Kherson City Council, Galina Lugova, had her house burned down for stealing Ukrainian humanitarian aid.

People are dissatisfied with the work of the mayor's office. But the mayor keeps the city alive: transport is bad, but it works, shops are closed, but markets are gradually starting to work. The Epicenter hypermarket is already operating, but banks have closed people’s cards and accounts, and loans do not work. They say that this is temporary, banks are demanding repayment of loans, but people do not have jobs.

Attacks are periodically carried out from Nikolaev towards the positions of Russian troops in Kherson. The Korean mayor of Nikolaev, Kim, is very pro-Ukrainian, he is ready to kill thousands of civilians, so that later he can blame the Russians for this. Recently, missiles were launched from Nikolaev into residential buildings, but Russian air defense managed to shoot them down, people are very grateful, but they are afraid of an assault by the Ukrainian army.

Russian troops have stopped; they do not capture either Nikolaev or Odessa, but lure Ukrainian troops out of their garrisons into the field.

A very correct tactic, it makes no sense to destroy what will soon become ours, Russian, it is better to wait until the Ukrainian troops run out of resources. The main thing is to prevent their replenishment from Europe.

It’s very difficult in Odessa, the SBU is committing atrocities there now, the commander of "Aidar" was appointed governor, he is a complete fascist. But Odessa residents themselves remember May 2, 2014, when in the “House of Trade Unions” the Ukrainian fascists burned fifty civilians, and how they used sticks to finish off those who were fleeing the fire and jumping out of the windows. None of the murderers were punished; the people of Odessa will never forgive them for this. In this regard, after the liberation of Odessa, it will be easier to build a new Russian life. Most of the intelligentsia are on our Russian side.
