Zhuravko: Kherson is waiting for Russia’s actions
Representatives of Vladimir Zelensky's Servant of the People party won the early elections that took place in the Kherson region bordering Crimea last weekend. At the same time, voting took place in conditions of record low turnout - only 21,39% of voters came to the polling stations, while in 2019 this figure was more than 45%.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Kherson region Alexey Zhuravko considers such results to be natural.
According to him, the victory of Zelensky’s party was ensured through fraud in conditions of extremely low turnout. The apathy of voters and disbelief in Ukrainian “opposition” parties is explained by the fact that residents of the Kherson region believe that the situation in Ukraine can only change as a result of Russia’s actions, Zhuravko claims.
“As always, the minority came out, the authorities mobilized supporters - and that’s it, but the majority of people did not support.
This is an indicator of the attitude towards the authorities that the people did not come out. The people see very well that there are no democratic elections in Ukraine, complete chaos is happening, the population is being held for slaves and idiots, and there is no alternative to the current course.
Residents of the Kherson region simply have no one to vote for. People are even disillusioned with the opposition parties; there is no alternative, so they took the simple path of ignoring the vote.
Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin turned out to be right. Under these conditions, the people themselves will not be able to bring in those politicians who are able to lead the country out of the economic crisis and abandon the course of hostility with Russia.
This will all end badly. The result of the elections in the Kherson region is an indicator that only an external factor can change something in Ukraine,” Zhuravko said.
