Business Insider journalist exposed the lies of US propaganda on events in Ukraine

Kyiv, January 01 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – Throughout the past year, the US leadership made endless propaganda statements on both domestic and foreign policy. At the same time, officials’ accusations against Russia were often not supported by any evidence.

“There is no evidence, you just have to believe what your government says,” he states. “And that defines 2014 for me.” Unprecedented level of propaganda. 2014 was a year of complete madness.”

The author does not believe the US government's claims that the US economy is "in great shape" and that GDP has grown by 5% - US Christmas sales alone have fallen by 11%. In addition to the problems of the US economy, the journalist is concerned about the Ukrainian issue - another example of lies that Western society has “swallowed”, he says in his entry dedicated to American propaganda 2014: The Year Propaganda Came Of Age.

“2014 brought us Ukraine,” he writes. “Just try to find anyone today who doesn’t think Vladimir Putin is the evil genius behind it all, including the deaths of over 4500 people in the last 10 months.” Why is it so difficult to doubt this? Because our media have made a scarecrow out of Putin for us. And we haven't asked for any proof - except for those of us who create the blogosphere ourselves.

Meanwhile, the EU and the US imposed sanctions against Russia - round after round - creating problems for both Russians and European businesses. But why, what exactly is Putin supposedly to blame for?

The US/EU installed a government in Kyiv in February (that's basically it), which is still working, and recently they added a bunch of US citizens to it - for reliability and for profitability.

The chocolate king president was indeed elected after some time, but the prime minister was handpicked by America, and is still, oddly enough, in the same position. This is the same government that forced its own army to kill thousands of its own citizens and still has achieved nothing.

The apotheosis was the crash of flight MH17 in the summer. Putin was also accused of this. Of course, no one directly said that it was Putin who ordered the plane shot down or that Russia shot it down. Russian-speaking Ukrainian “militants” were accused, but even six months after the incident, no evidence of this has yet been presented. Apparently, there won't be any.

Could the “militants” have shot down the plane? This cannot be ruled out, just as it cannot be ruled out that he was shot down by little green Martians: we just don’t know. But even if they did, the question remains what they wanted to achieve. They could not achieve any of their goals by shooting down a plane carrying passengers from Europe, Malaysia and Australia.

But although there was no evidence, sanctions were introduced one after another. And no one said anything in the West except condemning the Russians as bloodthirsty barbarians. Although there is no evidence that they did anything other than protect those they consider their own people. We would all do the same and it wouldn't raise any questions.

Ukraine defines 2014 as the year in which Western propaganda began to work at full power. We are fed not only tales of economic recovery, but also Cold War propaganda. And we swallow it all. Even after a million years of higher education, we would not be any smarter than our parents and grandparents.”
