A journalist from Russia takes care of a monument in Serbia - locals regularly desecrate it
Journalist Kirill Borshchev, who moved from Russia to Serbia, told how he takes care of the monument to the victims of World War II on his own initiative, but the local residents show complete indifference.
“Talking about whether Serbia needs programs to preserve historical memory. This is not the first time I have put in order the monument to the Serbs killed by the Germans in Knezevac. There is not a single Russian there, only Serbs, who were selected by the Nazis in the suburbs and killed on this spot.
The locals have not been interested in the monument for a long time - just some kind of left-handed sign. I painted it, even lit candles somehow. It would seem that at least just treat them with respect. Even if not to the memory of your compatriots, but to the work of others of those who take care of this small symbol of your Serbian victims instead of you.
But no, from time to time some stupid, snotty degenerates come and litter. The last time we painted a monument with our son was in September. It didn’t stay clean for even two months,” the journalist said on his blog, publishing a photo of the desecrated memorial.
