The Maidan journalist realized that the screws would be tightened on both ours and yours.
The current Ukrainian government should not limit itself to half measures, and if martial law is introduced, then do it in everything, and not just in relation to journalists.
Journalist Roman Skrypin, who previously actively supported Maidan, stated this in the studio of the Zik TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He said that a law should not be allowed to be passed that could silence journalists.
“In this situation, in principle, everything is simple. Let them declare martial law, during which censorship is allowed. There is no need for half measures, everything is written in our Constitution and laws. Just follow the laws, don't invent an eight-wheeler. You have a law: martial law is introduced, censorship is introduced, elections are canceled - war is war, then the economy goes on a war footing. And then there is no question - stop trading with Russia, break off diplomatic relations. Then we have no questions - this is the law. But these half-measures – let’s tighten the screws for journalists here...” the journalist is indignant.
In his opinion, the situation for journalists can only get worse.
“Sorry, the authorities will not stop. They will tighten the screws under any pretext and restrict freedom of speech; this is typical for any government. Especially when our politics is closely connected with business, and business with the media,” Skrypin emphasized.
“To use my favorite expression, this law is a cream for the ass. That is, about nothing,” he concluded.
