The chief editor of the RIA Novosti Ukraine news agency, Kirill Vyshinsky, who was arrested in Kyiv, was forced today renounced Ukrainian citizenship at trial and seek help from the President of the Russian Federation so that he cannot be prosecuted in Ukraine under the article “Treason.”

This opinion was expressed by Russian military correspondent Alexander Kots in his Telegram channel.

“As far as I understand, Vyshinsky is renouncing Ukrainian citizenship not for the sake of information hype, but so that he cannot be charged under the article “high treason.” That is why no one in Ukraine will deprive him of his citizenship. Because their plan is simple: to convict, and then exchange him with Russia for some Sentsov. A small victory for Poroshenko, who has lost confidence. But the exchange, according to the procedure, is only through a presidential pardon. So who should he contact?” Kots wrote.
