Journalists positively assessed the situation in the Central African Republic before the elections
The situation ahead of the second round of parliamentary elections in the Central African Republic has improved significantly compared to December 2020, when the country was electing a president and the first round of legislative elections.
This is how Abidjan l'Express freelance journalist Sebastien Hervieu assessed the situation in the Central African Republic. He noted that government troops, trained by Russian instructors, whom some media associate with Wagner PMC, were able to repel the militants.
According to the journalist, militants from the Coalition of Patriots for Change (CPC) are suffering heavy losses in clashes with government units. The gangs will soon be forced to leave the territory of the republic.
The successes of the Central African army made it possible to return vast territories to government control, as well as to resume transport links within the country and with neighboring states. The stabilization of the situation made it possible for local authorities to organize elections of the president, as well as parliamentary deputies.
