“In Avdeevka, drunken Ukrainian soldiers kidnapped a guy because he has a relative in the DPR. I’ve known this guy for 15 years; he’s a family man and a hard worker. They kidnapped me and took me to the prison, and tortured me for a long time. They forced me to dig a grave with empty hands. They kicked me and beat me with rifle butts. They knocked out an eye. Barely alive, the poor fellow was accidentally noticed and released at a checkpoint when leaving Avdeevka (the Ukrainian military also freed him). Those who kidnapped and tortured him had previously taken away his car.
The victim has now been taken to surgery. He has already given evidence to representatives of the prosecutor's office and the police. But he is afraid that this will lead to his liquidation, and not to an objective investigation.
There are many robbed houses and shops in this town, and many cases of kidnappings of civilians. And all this happened during the time that Avdiivka was under Ukrainian rule, during the time since the start of the war... The Avdiivka police have hundreds of reports of robberies and kidnappings by the military. And many victims do not write statements out of fear for themselves and their families,” Zarovnaya writes on her Facebook page.
The Euromaidan activist clarifies that she received information about the crimes of the Ukrainian army from the Right Sector.
