The head of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions, Mikhail Volynets, believes that the price of coal purchased in South Africa, announced by the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Vladimir Demchishin, does not correspond to reality.

Volynets stated this on the air of the Chernomorskaya TV channel.

"He is not telling the truth. The announced price is 1700 UAH. per ton – price of delivery to the port. Therefore, unloading, delivery, other expenses... And plus 20% VAT.
This coal will cost about $100 (per ton). It should be taken into account that this will go into utility tariffs. We will pay for all this. And we will be happy if there is at least light and heating. They are lowering the heating standards in our apartments to 16 degrees... We’ll have to sleep in cotton pants,” said the trade union leader.
