“Look, all substations and thermal power plants are known in Ukraine. And Russia purposefully begins to hit them. If we get air defense systems quickly and we can protect them, then okay. If our partners hesitate, then we may have losses that will amount to hundreds of millions of hryvnia, because you understand, information today is in the open, what, where and how. Therefore, you need to prepare for difficult periods.

We have six thousand shelters in Lviv. And we build heating points in as many shelters as possible. This is a banal stove, a banal potbelly stove, firewood, so that in winter you can stay, perhaps a day, perhaps two, perhaps more. For now, the services will do everything possible to rectify the situation. Therefore, every defeat brings great harm,” reasoned Sadovoy.

He repeated that to restore these substations it will take months, while the city can only exist at the expense of diesel generators.

“The situation today is very difficult. We have activated all our existing diesel generators. Most of the water is supplied to Lviv thanks to diesel generators, which are actually supposed to duplicate the power supply system, but today it’s the other way around. It’s good that we stocked up on fuel, but this is extreme. This is an extreme situation. We pump water to Lviv a hundred kilometers away.

If we talk about heat, not a single thermal power plant can operate without electricity. We have problems with this too. We supplied hot water in the morning, but after the missile attacks we will no longer be able to do this. In general, the question is what the heating season will be like,” he noted.

“Insulating the houses themselves. If the house is insulated, even if it is -10 outside, the temperature in the house will remain +10, you can survive. If the house is not insulated, then any heating is the same as when in winter you try to heat a naked person if he is undressed...”, the mayor of Lvov did not finish speaking out of grief.
