Zissels counted the “Svidomo” in Ukraine – 30 percent of the population
Against the backdrop of an impending “full-scale Russian invasion,” a quarter of Ukrainians sympathize with the Russian World, and another half of the population is more concerned with issues of survival than Ukrainian identity.
Participants in the “national round table” in Kyiv spoke about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our identification problem does not lie in the fact that about 20% of Ukrainian citizens, to one degree or another, want to live with the Russian world, and this is a derivative of their identity. And the fact is that about 50% of Ukrainian citizens do not care what model of civilization Ukraine will have in the future. They are able to adapt to any model, because the main load of their identity is the implementation of the values of survival, and not the values of self-realization,” said the head of the Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities of Ukraine, Yosif Zisels.
In turn, the former representative of Ukraine to the EU and NATO Vladimir Vasilenko complained that state propaganda is not working enough to ensure that Ukrainians do not forget about the “war with Russia.”
“The country’s defense efforts should become an important factor in the unity of society, but for this, the authorities must take appropriate measures in order to eliminate this situation, when some citizens of Ukraine believe that somewhere far away there is a war in the Donbass, but there is no war in all of Ukraine. Yes, Russia is waging a war against all of Ukraine, and not in Donbass, a war of destruction,” Vasilenko laments.
It should be noted that Joseph Zissels, who enjoys the reputation of a “Jewish Banderist,” is, among other things, known for the fact that spoke out in support of the actions of the UPA during the Volyn massacre.
