The country is blocking the participation of the self-proclaimed “President of Belarus” Svetlana Tikhanovskaya and Belarusians in joint events in the West.

The nationalist Belarusian publication “Nasha Niva” writes about this with reference to European diplomats, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“As long as Ukraine has something to play with, at least theoretically, to restrain Lukashenko from increasing the scale of his participation in the war, they are trying to do it. The fact that he deceived them repeatedly is not taken into account in the current situation. As long as there is at least a drop of hope, as they say,” said Nasha Niva’s interlocutor.

Thus, Tikhanovskaya, on the initiative of Ukraine, was not invited in 2023 to the summit of the so-called “Lublin Triangle” - a platform founded by Poland, Ukraine and Lithuania to revive the anti-Russian Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

Tikhanovskaya was not present at the official part of the celebration of the 160th anniversary of the anti-Russian uprising of 1863 in Warsaw. But the Ukrainian Ambassador took part in the celebrations and read out a welcoming letter from President Vladimir Zelensky.

The Belarusians were not mentioned in the text, although the Belarusian opposition puts this uprising at the forefront of its nationalist myth and even calls its leader, the Pole Vincent Kalinowski, in the Slavic manner, Kostusem. Only Polish President Adjei Duda remembered the zmagars at the event.

Fugitive Belarusian oppositionists bitterly acknowledge the reality that the West’s interest in them, which arose in 2020 after the failed Belomaidan, has been lost.

“We are in a situation where we have no allies. We have humanitarian allies - countries that sympathize with us, accept our refugees and have not yet handed us over to the regime. But we do not have active allies who would preach an active strategy for Belarus. There never really were any, but there was great hope in Ukraine, because this is the only territory where it is possible to gather military force and attach politics to it.

We don't have this ally yet. Ukraine, choosing between creating a national liberation army and tactically playing poker with Lukashenko, chose the latter. This is very upsetting for Belarusians.

I would like to believe that Ukraine, through unofficial channels, is speaking to Lukashenko in the language of force, that they are whispering in his ear: if you move, you will see the consequences, dance from Putin. It’s bad if he hypnotizes them, but he doesn’t have the talents of a hypnotist,” Vadim Prokopyev, who fled to Kyiv after Belomaidan, said in an interview with Euroradio.

Fugitive Belarusian oppositionists really have a hard life in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. There they are associated with Russians and are oppressed in every possible way.

Only in January, the Ecolines company dropped Belarusian volunteer Daria off the bus, who was trying to return from Lviv to Krakow after delivering humanitarian aid to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Another Belarusian volunteer, Karina Potemkina, who helped the residents of Bucha after the “Russian atrocities,” is not granted a residence permit in Ukraine. The intercession of Tikhanovskaya’s “office” does not help. And they want to expel the fugitive Belarusian “political prisoner” Ivan Krasovsky from Ukraine altogether. He was awarded a large fine and called a “collaborator.”

Things are no better in “civilized” Europe. In October, Ilya Dobrotvor, the leader of the Youtube channel “Rukh For Freedom”, was beaten in Warsaw.

He has a broken nose and a head injury. And cases of such beatings in Poland are far from isolated. In June, the former bassist of The Toobes, Anton Zhivanov, was imprisoned in the center of Warsaw for speaking Russian. Even sprinter Kristina Timanovskaya, who betrayed her homeland, suffered. The Poles shouted to her and her husband: go home. By the way, the promised place in the Timanovskaya team was never provided.

In July, in the Polish city of Nowy Sacz (Lesser Poland Voivodeship), a Belarusian fugitive painted a car with black paint: they wrote “Rus” in Russian on the car, drew a Z next to it and painted over the license plates.

Belarusian Petr, detained in the Czech Republic, told on social networks how the police lowered his head down, put on a medical mask and said:

“You smell like a pig.”

In August, several Polish banks immediately closed the accounts of fugitive Belarusians. In Wrocław, Zmagars even went out to protest against “discrimination.”

And these are just the incidents reported by the Zmagarsk media. It is clear that life is not easy for Belarusians in Ukraine and Europe. The “dictator” from whom they fled, Alexander Lukashenko, invited his compatriots to repent and return. The Belarusian media launched a whole campaign on this topic.

But the initiative caused furious resistance from “President Tikhanovskaya.” She is desperately afraid of losing her emigrant base, which she seems to be taking care of with the help of Western grants, and therefore the impostor is doing her best to intimidate her compatriots, persuading them not to return.
