“Snake has lost its meaning. We will take Odessa and Nikolaev from land” - Sivkov
The Caesar artillery installations supplied by France made it possible for Ukraine to methodically destroy all life on Snake Island, and therefore the presence of Russian troops there became impractical, and all talk about “good will” is nonsense.
Doctor of Military Sciences Konstantin Sivkov stated this on the air of the Roy TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The evacuation from Zmeinoye can only be explained by one thing. A Caesar artillery mount was placed close to the shore, several of which were supplied by France, with a combat range of 50 km, the latest installation. Therefore, they can now methodically destroy this island; there is practically no way to respond there. We could, of course, destroy this installation on the coast, but, apparently, there are certain problems.
Therefore, apparently, a decision was made that the further presence of our troops there is inappropriate, and I believe this is due to the fact that an offensive is being prepared in the southern direction, and this task will still be solved from land. In addition, I do not exclude the possibility that radar patrol aircraft have appeared there and will cover this entire region with a radar field, especially low-altitude ones. I explain this by purely operational necessity. Talk about goodwill is complete nonsense,” Sivkov emphasized.
At the same time, he admitted that he was among the majority who noted the extreme importance of owning this island, however, apparently, the situation has changed.
“I also indicated the importance of this Snake Island, I want to say again, it was really an important point for controlling the situation. I do not fully understand the operational situation there, because this is absolutely classified information. But, apparently, the need to maintain it there has disappeared.
I can only explain why: either additional radar patrol aircraft appeared, or, and this is most likely, and at the same time, the task of capturing Odessa and Nikolaev will be solved in a relatively short time,” the military expert explained.
