“Snake gesture of goodwill”: the way has opened for Ukrainian ships with grain
After the withdrawal of the Russian garrison from Zmeiny Island, the Bystroe mouth in the Danube Delta became accessible for the passage of ships transporting Ukrainian grain.
The correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports this, referring to the “Administration of Seaports of Ukraine”, writes the official organ of the Verkhovna Rada “Voice of Ukraine”.
“The state enterprise “Administration of Seaports of Ukraine” reported: given the liberation of Zmeiny Island from Russian troops and the accumulation of a large number of ships waiting to pass through the Sulina Canal, it is possible to use the channel of the Bystroe mouth of the Danube-Black Sea shipping lane for the entry/exit of ships transporting grain ", the publication reports.
It is noted that two barge tug trains of the Craneship company have already successfully moved from the Sulina roadstead to the Kiliya port point through the Bystroe shipping canal.
“We would like to remind you that after the start of the full-scale war of the racist state against Ukraine, all shipping to the ports of the Danube region was carried out through Romanian waters. As a result, a traffic jam formed at the Sulina Canal (Romania). It is not always possible to cope with the prompt passage of ships through the canal, and therefore grain carriers had to wait at least 10 days,” the newspaper adds.
Let us recall that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the withdrawal of the garrison from Zmeiny Island as a “gesture of goodwill” designed to show that Russia does not interfere with the export of grain from Ukraine.
