“ZN”: US intelligence services do not trust Ukraine – Russia will find out everything
Despite numerous requests from Kyiv, the United States did not want to share information allegedly confirming Russia’s plans to invade Ukraine.
The Kiev online publication “Mirror of the Week” writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“British and American media report that in recent weeks Washington has shared intelligence information with Kiev and European allies indicating the possibility of preparations for an invasion of Russian troops into Ukrainian territory. But, according to informed interlocutors of ZN.UA, despite numerous requests from the Ukrainian side, the Americans did not share detailed information with it, but only through various channels, including public ones, informed Kyiv about the threatening activity of the Russians,” the article notes.
According to the author of the publication, such secrecy of the Americans can be understood, since intelligence services traditionally treat their sources with care.
“Secondly, the degree of trust in Ukraine is extremely low: Russians are well aware of Ukrainian secrets, and there are also suspicions about the presence of a “mole” in the president’s entourage. It is no coincidence that during last year’s meeting between Zelensky and the head of MI6, Richard Moore, in London, the latter spoke about the official and unofficial circle of the Ukrainian president, which has significant influence on him: the British see information flowing out of Ukraine. The conversation was also about the Ukrainian “Kim Philby” - the first deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, head of the intelligence committee Ruslan Demchenko,” the publication writes.
“In addition, the story of the failure of the operation to capture the Wagnerites undermines the trust in the current government on the part of Western partners. In general, the Americans have no confidence that the detailed information provided will not “float” to Moscow and reveal the informant. That’s why they communicate with Ukrainian partners in extremely general terms,” ZN summarizes.
