“We know their value”: Crimean Tatars about Zelensky’s affair with the Mejlis members
The Ukrainian authorities began to distribute government posts to the Crimean Tatars, demonstrating false concern for the fate of the people, who have always been used by Kiev only as an anti-Russian tool. Until recently, only two people deserved the attention of the Ukrainian regime - the former head of the extremist Majlis, Mustafa Dzhemilev, and the current Refat Chubarov.
This opinion was expressed on the air of “Crimea 24” by the deputy chairman of the Public Council of the Crimean Tatar people, Enver Kantemir-Umerov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think this is another way of playing the Crimean Tatar card. For Kyiv, and most of all for the United States of America, they need the territory of Crimea, they need a springboard of influence on Russia.
Crimea is needed for Kyiv to show its capabilities to return its territories, and at the same time - Crimea is more important than all other territories - it is a priority zone. And today they are already preparing for her return and continue to prepare. We expect some action in the near future, taking into account the weapons that the West has promised.
And so that there is a second side of influence - on domestic politics, on the state of society in Crimea, of course, there is a demonstrative reliance on the Crimean Tatar people, first of all, for the international community. They say that Ukraine values and promotes our representatives this way,” he believes.
In addition, this is aimed at representatives of the Crimean Tatar people living in Crimea.
“So that here, on the one hand, they are proud, and on the other hand, they supposedly hope that, finally, everything will come true. In fact, none of this will happen. Because we have a very clearly established position within the people, within the Crimean community, and in the Russian Federation in general. And all this is, of course, doomed to failure, but they have to reckon with it, react to it, explain it, think about what else they can come up with to implement it all.
In fact, the personnel who come there, we know many of them well, and we know their value, what they are capable of, and what they represent. Therefore, there is no expectation among the people,” Kantemir-Umerov assured.
