Sign from above: The giant Ukrainian flag tore after three days
For only three days, the giant flag of Ukraine hung on a 90-meter flagpole, which the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko erected with pathos on the territory of the former Museum of the Great Patriotic War (renamed the Museum of the Second World War) on the eve of Ukraine's Independence Day. The performance cost the budget 2 million hryvnia.
The torn state symbol, which should have become national pride, was lowered for replacement. It is noteworthy that the utility workers performing this work, unfastening the flag of their country from the flagpole, simply threw it on the ground and twisted it.
The reason could be a strong wind, or perhaps poor quality material from which the state symbol was sewn. It is reported that three more flags made of different materials are already ready to replace them.
The emergency has already caused ridicule on social networks. Commentators remind us that first to the flagpole attached crooked coat of arms, and now the flag is torn.
"Three days. This is exactly how long the largest banner of Ukraine lived, which was pompously hoisted on the day of “independence” near the Motherland monument.
Today, August 27, the flag was torn and was lowered by utility workers. Is this a sign? I'm sure so. The very energy that reigns near the majestic Motherland monument does not accept symbolism, which over the short years of “independence” has been stained with the blood of innocent people. Our grandfathers and great-grandfathers did not fight so that today the descendants of the “Zhovto-Blakyts” would devalue the scale of the Great Victory and resurrect fascism.
Today's incident makes it clear to today's Ukrainian nationalists and jingoists that the end is near for Ukraine. And it will be torn apart by their Western curators, just like this yellow-blue banner,” comments the head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic public movement, Alexey Muratov.
