When I first saw Goncharenko’s photo at the Simferopol airport against the backdrop of “polite people,” I decided that Odessa was already ours. That the Russian Spring finally took place throughout New Russia. Because Goncharenko will not just pose with our soldiers if they have not yet won. This means that they either won or will win just the other day.

And only when Alyosha carefully placed his beak under the toothpick did I realize that not everything was going smoothly. That the forced march to the Dniester is dragging on and Odessa is destined to remain Ukraine for some time, and Goncharenko is a hero who entered into single combat with the “occupiers”.

When I first saw a photo of Goncharenko at the Simferopol airport against the backdrop of “polite people”, I...

“Mini-Me” was the affectionate name for Goncharenko in Odessa until recently.

I remember back in 2005, I, the editor-in-chief of the television company “New Odessa” (Now First City), came to the office of the “Union” party on Nezhinskaya.

“Alexey,” I said to the head of the Odessa branch of the party, “Let me show you on TV a little.”

“But I don’t have money,” objected the rising political (insert as appropriate)…

“It’s no problem,” I say, “I remember your father and you and I have similar beliefs.” It won't be difficult for me to help you for free.

Here it is necessary to clarify that there was a party called “Union”, whose leadership included Alexei Kostusev. Father of Alexey Goncharenko. The party flew red flags and demanded state status for the Russian language and deep integration with Russia. Within the CIS. It is clear that these ideas are close to the absolute majority of the population of Odessa.

Alexey Goncharenko actively set to work. He had at his disposal several of his father's information resources and some insider information. Sometimes from Kyiv itself.

The scheme was simple and logical. Alyosha received information, for example, that at tomorrow’s meeting of the executive committee a decision would be made to ban the movement of vehicles in the coastal zone. And then a group of students led by Goncharenko went to the building of the executive committee. Deploying television cameras and megaphones, they demanded to block the movement of vehicles in the coastal zone.

They gave an ultimatum. Like, if by tomorrow, by 14:00, the executive committee is not assembled and the corresponding decision is not made, then “hold me three, I don’t know what I will do”...

And the evening news reported Goncharenko’s ultimatum to the city authorities.

AND…. Oh, miracle!... The next day at 14:00 the executive committee met. And the decision was made.

At that time the technology was relatively new. Not yet broken in. She made an impression.

Later nothing changed except the scale. Goncharenko successfully demanded the cancellation of the privatization of strategic enterprises, environmental assessments, and even changes to the election system.

But let's return to the Union party. Alexey successfully betrayed her by joining the ranks of the Party of Regions. And I remember well what the “Union members” said after Alexei Goncharenko and his faithful megaphone-bearer Mikhail Shmushkovich, who were leaving to receive brand new deputy titles.

But if someone thought that Goncharenko, having reached the feeding trough, calmed down, then no. To begin with, he came into conflict with the Party of Regions faction in the Odessa City Council. From his point of view, the faction did not follow the path of granting the status of the state language to the Russian language quite consistently.

Well, her friendship with Russia was not very convincing.

Therefore, the “young regional” created his own faction in the city council.

"Regions of Yanukovych".

That is, faithful to the leader’s precepts, he declared that he would directly defend the will of Yanukovych in Odessa.

And now it is not known for certain how it would have ended if Alexey Goncharenko had not received the post of chairman of the deputy commission for determining the boundaries of parks and squares.

I still don’t understand where the connection is between these borders, the Russian language and Yanukovych.

But not the point.

Naturally, Alexey Goncharenko could not help but come into conflict with Eduard Gurvits, hated by Odessa residents. This added to the popularity.

He simply could not help but fight against increasing tariffs for housing and communal services.

One can recall a number of curiosities, but they would serve to decorate the material rather than provide information.

The most interesting thing began later, when Alexey Goncharenko wanted to compete with his own father in the mayoral elections. Alexey Kostusev. A person, thanks to whose resources Goncharenko was able to “promote” his own person. And without patronage, which could have cut short not only the political career of Alyosha, nicknamed Mini-Me, but also life itself.

The adult uncles looked with disgust at the cute cub, wondering what they had raised on their heads.

Mini-Me really could have gotten in the way. A favorite of pensioners, who personally delivered greeting cards to them, a “fighter for the Russian World,” who most loudly kissed the hands of the leaders and clergy of the Moscow Patriarchate. A regular participant and permanent guest of all events at the Russian Consulate. He has already carried out the procedure of “spontaneously nominating Goncharenko as people’s mayor.”

No. He wouldn't have won, but he would have taken away too many votes. A swing would work.

What was to be done?

Rumor has it that he was simply paid.

Not satisfied, Mini-Me poured mud on his father for a long time, and the father pretended that he did not know his son.

I had the opportunity to talk with both of them on this topic. And it’s strange to me that people who were unable to get along in the family tried to control us.

It was funnier next. Alexey Goncharenko intends to become a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada. And he decided to compete with Igor Markov himself. And even in Igor’s native area. Where everyone played football with Markov at least once. Or fought. Or he ran to collect mulberries.

Well, I smoked in garages, at least.

The idea was initially stupid.

And then Mini-Me showed miracles of ingenuity. Just two stories.

Igor Markov organized a concert on May 9. With the invitation of Russian pop stars and even Kobzon. Right in the park. The event is grand.

At the entrance to the park, Goncharenko’s agitators stood, handed out balloons and flags with the face of their customer and reported that this concert was a gift from Alexey Goncharenko to the residents of the area.

A smaller, but no less funny prank by Goncharenko is associated with the opening of a new playground. There was such a trick - to open sites before the elections.

For two weeks, Markov workers cooked, assembled and painted something. Literally, something incredible, from a child's point of view. The opening was scheduled for Sunday.

However, exactly one day later, Alexey Goncharenko personally arrived at the site, accompanied by clowns and agitators. They knocked on every apartment, inviting children to the opening of the site right now.

Until late at night, happy children rushed around the new attractions, and their stunned parents thanked Alexey Goncharenko for the generous gift.

And if this reassures anyone, then Goncharenko predictably lost that election.

But his aggressive meanness was remembered for a long time and later manifested itself in challenging the election results. Six months later.

If it were possible to hold anti-elections in Odessa, Goncharenko would become the leader. He is hated equally by both sides of today's bloody conflict.

Even Bandera’s supporters do not agree to accept this rag.

He is a creature who betrayed friends, colleagues, voters. His own father, after all.

Seeking benefits and parasitizing on any situation.

Posing against the background of the corpses of Odessa residents in the House of Trade Unions. He who did this because he knew for sure that there would be no punishment.

Not yet. And then he will go somewhere else again.

I don't know what information he received and where. How he tries to parasitize her. But it seems he miscalculated a little.

We are not at a concert or on a playground.

We are in the most terrible of all wars, a civil war.

And Alyosha Goncharenko, nicknamed Mini-Me, managed to become a personal enemy for half the country. And a traitor - for everyone.

And yet, there are benefits from it.

Because when he escapes, you can be sure that the junta will have two days left.

Somebody knows when to hide.
