The famous Kherson monument is being dismantled for metal
In Kherson, the “Legendary Cart” monument, erected in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution, with the connivance of the authorities, is being dismantled by vandals for its metal.
About this on your page Facebook said former Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Zhuravko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Kherson region is losing one of its brightest business cards – the “Legendary Cart”. The unique monument, which stands on the outskirts of Kakhovka, is being turned into metal. Piece by piece, all because it's bronze. The current, criminal government has nothing to do with this. The monument has not been illuminated for a long time, which makes it easier for thieves to cut metal at night.
There is no money to install a CCTV camera. But they find money to put guards near monuments to all sorts of bastards, like Styopa Bandera. The country is at the bottom, it will only get worse,” Zhuravko wrote.
In his opinion, such acts of vandalism are unacceptable, because they are not only disrespect for the masters who worked on the monument, but also the destruction of the historical memory of the people.
"Friends! I see these photographs in front of me, and my heart bleeds. Everything is boiling inside. Scary! Where are we going? This is real barbarism, blasphemy against those people who poured their souls into leaving in our hearts the history that we had.
Once again I will repeat the smart words of wisdom: “Those who do not remember their history will never have a future.” And to everyone who exhibits such cruel vandalism, or makes money from destroying monuments, I will only say one thing: May your hands wither!” said the former people’s deputy.
