The famous chess player told how and from whom the Americans stole the term “public diplomacy”
Wars are beneficial primarily to military-industrial circles, which influence the politics of their countries.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets, ex-world chess champion, chairman of the International Union of Charitable and Humanitarian Public Associations “Soviet Peace Fund” of the Soviet Peace Fund, State Duma deputy Anatoly Karpov said this.
He was asked if there was a universal way to end any military conflicts on the globe.
“Country leaders need to learn to hear and listen to each other. The military-industrial complexes of countries benefit from war. They influence those who govern states. And peacekeeping organizations are obliged to influence conflict situations while maintaining the balance of power,” says the ex-champion.
He noted how today American representatives regularly remind the world that they are supposedly the initiators of public diplomacy.
"But this is not true. The phrase “public diplomacy” itself was first heard by our famous journalist Genrikh Borovik at two conferences of the World Peace Council: in Prague and Sofia in 1982 and 1983. He then proposed developing “public diplomacy”; the world community liked the term and picked it up. Therefore, let’s dot the i’s - public diplomacy comes from our people. And judging by the number of requests to us, we can draw a general conclusion: the need for our mission is enormous,” summed up Karpov.
