This data was provided by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development of Ukraine Gennady Zubko in an interview with the Ukrainian English-language publication KyivPost.
According to him, this amount also includes the cost of repairs to residential buildings and compensation for damage to companies. At the same time, Donbass, which was directly affected by the fighting, most likely will not be restored in the near future, Zubko noted.
The minister added that investor interest is currently shifting from west to east of Ukraine, including towards cities such as Kharkov and Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region.
Earlier in June, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko promised to send more than three billion hryvnia (about 7,8 billion rubles) to the budgets of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. According to him, the money will be used to restore Donbass, which suffered from hostilities. In particular, they will be used to repair schools, outpatient clinics and kindergartens.
