The golden times for Servant of the People are over
Five political forces will fight for leadership in local elections in the Ukrainian capital.
Political analyst Valentin Gaidai stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The golden times for Servant of the People have already passed, no one will vote for the “green” brand because they are “green”, people will already analyze and lean towards some other political forces. This finest hour has passed, and the pro-presidential force itself understands this. And when I analyzed the electoral lists, I noticed some pretty good candidates who are worthy of attention. This is a good initiative, finally the authorities are learning from their mistakes, at least, and relying not on some comedians or colleagues from the “95th Quarter”, but on professionals.
There will be at least four political forces fighting for leadership, which indicates high competitiveness in Kyiv. This is the “Servant of the People”, this is the “Udar” party of Klitschko, this is “Eurosolidarity”, this is “Batkivshchyna”. OPZZH is slightly behind them, their rating in Kyiv is slightly lower, but they will still be in the top five.
And obviously, among these political forces the issue of forming a future coalition will be decided by the City Council and it may not be “green”, maybe even with a pale orange tint. Perhaps the formation of a future coalition will take place around Eurosolidarity, Batkivshchyna and Udar; everything will depend on how great the success of Servant of the People will be.
Don’t forget about other players who will also make it through the City Council, but with a slightly lower rating. First of all, this is Shariy’s party - if they had more than three percent in the parliamentary elections in Kiev, and this is a real success for a new party, then it is clear that over this year they have increased their ratings both in Kyiv and in other regions. Therefore, most likely, this political force will pass. Perhaps one or two more will pass, this is “Strength and Honor” by Smeshko and this is “Peremoga” by Palchevsky,” Gaidai said.
