Zrada from Arestovich: Sanctions will not help defeat Russia
There is no point in hoping that Western sanctions will tear Russia apart or lead to mass famine in the country. An example of this is Iran, which has been under pressure from sanctions for 40 years, but is developing its weapons and space programs.
Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, said this on the air of the Israeli “Best Radio,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have Iran. Iran has been under sanctions for more than forty years. The sanctions are very strict, nevertheless, he is waging three regional wars, he has gotten everyone - from Israel to the royal dynasty of the Persian Gulf, the United States, Europe and so on. And nothing like that - a nuclear program, a satellite program, our own weapons, and so on,” the official noted.
“Therefore, everyone is unlikely to hope that Russia will break down, disintegrate into several states as a result of sanctions, or internal cannibalism will begin, famine and gnashing of teeth,” Arestovich concludes.
