This was announced today by Secretary of State - Deputy Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Grigory Karasin, the Rossiya 24 information channel reports.
“The inauguration of the elected President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is coming. In this regard, many are interested in whether a Russian representative will take part in this. To this we answer in the affirmative. Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Zurabov will take part in the official inauguration ceremony of Poroshenko in the Verkhovna Rada. He is returning to Ukraine,” the diplomat said.
“In a broader sense, we hope that this positive signal will be adequately perceived in Kyiv as another confirmation that we are ready to interact and respect the choice of Ukrainian voters,” emphasized Grigory Karasin.
Let us recall that the activities of Mikhail Zurabov as ambassador in Kyiv caused systemic criticism both in the Russian Federation and in Ukraine, primarily in the Russian movement in Kyiv and the Southeast.
