The publication “Rzeczpospolita” writes about this, which cites data from the Office for the Protection of Human Rights of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Poland for 2014.
Last year, the Office confirmed only 4 hate crimes committed against LGBT people (all of these cases were known to the general public). This is just over 1% of all hate-motivated crimes known to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
A total of 314 such cases were opened, including 121 that concerned national and ethnic minorities, mainly Roma and Jews. We are talking about offensive graffiti on walls, destruction of places of memory, neglect and threats in direct relationships.
77 cases were related to racism, and 12 were directed against religion and belief, mainly Islam, Polish Radio reports.
