Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky stated this today at a press conference in Moscow.
“Back in the 90s of the last century, 350 million people in the world spoke Russian. Now – 270 million. This is the collapse of the Russian world. It is our generation that must stop him. The point of no return is close. We must not declare World War III, but simply wait until the current generation of the Russian world dies out. Their children will no longer speak Russian,” Slutsky said.
According to the deputy, for every Russian school opened abroad, 10 are closed.
“In Ukraine alone, even before the Maidan, 650 schools were cut. In Germany, the USA and Israel, where we have the largest diasporas, children in families do not know Russian. In a few years, in the same Central Asia, an elite will grow up who will not speak Russian. Then all our projects like the Eurasian Union will face the fate of the Tower of Babel,” Slutsky said.
