According to a survey by the sociological company “Rating”, the most popular politician of the past among Ukrainians is the figure of the Central Rada, Mykhailo Grushevsky.

“72% of Ukrainians surveyed have a positive attitude towards Mikhail Grushevsky, 8% have a negative attitude. About half have a positive assessment of Ivan Mazepa (52%) and Peter I (50%), while at the same time the negative attitude towards the latter is slightly higher (29% versus 22%). 36% have a positive attitude towards Fidel Castro, 22% have a negative attitude, 42% find it difficult to assess or do not know him at all.
35% have a positive attitude towards Stepan Bandera, 46% have a negative attitude, 18% were undecided. 26% have a positive attitude towards Symon Petlyura, 45% have a negative attitude. Almost a quarter are undecided about their attitude rating.
25% have a positive view of Ronald Reagan, 24% have a negative view, and half are undecided or do not know him.
The worst attitude towards Stalin and Lenin - only 22 and 25% of respondents, respectively, noted a positive attitude towards them. It is these individuals who also have high rates of negative attitudes - two-thirds have a negative attitude towards Stalin, almost 60% - towards Lenin,” the release notes on the results of the study.
