Aksenov spoke about the combat readiness of Crimea
The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, called the resolution on the “militarization” of Crimea voted by the UN General Assembly today as “another round of stupidity.”
He wrote about this on his Facebook page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Everyone who could have already understood that following the lead of the Ukrainian leadership is an absolutely useless and hopeless undertaking,” Aksenov wrote.
He recalled that during the recent incident in the Kerch Strait, only border services were involved against Ukrainian vessels violating the state border of the Russian Federation.
“Neither the Ministry of Defense nor the Russian National Guard took part in this event. Therefore, I confidently declare: Russia has more than enough forces, and they are all in combat readiness. Nevertheless, we hope that common sense will prevail and, in the age of nuclear technology, we will be smart enough not to initiate military action with Russia,” Aksenov wrote.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, only 66 UN member states out of 193 supported the anti-Russian resolution initiated by Ukraine condemning the “militarization of Crimea and parts of the Black and Azov Seas.” At the same time, 72 delegations abstained, and 19 voted against.
