“Maybe it’s time?” – Shoigu is advised to agree to interrogation by the SBU in Mariupol
Ukrainian media published a copy of the summons sent by the SBU to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu with a requirement to appear on July 20 for questioning in Mariupol to present charges in a criminal case. A similar document was sent to Orthodox oligarch Konstantin Malofeev, one of the sponsors of the 2014 Russian Spring. They are accused of “Creating paramilitary armed formations not provided for by law, which led to the death of people.”
“Here, the entire Donbass has been waiting for seven years for Sergei Kuzhugetovich to finally come to Mariupol. And then they call you, maybe it’s time?” – comments Andrey Rudenko, a military correspondent working in Donetsk.
Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov agrees with him:
“In my opinion, this is a good reason for Russia to take advantage of the kind invitation. If only no one would yell about “aggression” later – they called them themselves,” the expert sneers.
The ex-commander of the Prizrak brigade, Yuri Shevchenko, assesses the situation similarly.
“In the Donbass buildings, the Minister’s summons to Mariupol for questioning caused unprecedented enthusiasm. 100% of the personnel are ready to become “witnesses”. The equipment is ready and fueled. Ammunition - corresponds to the task. Food - according to established standards. Order?!" – he writes on his blog.
Senator Alexey Pushkov published a detailed comment:
“In Kyiv they live in their own virtual reality. In this invented reality, they appoint some people to lead Crimea, evict 500 thousand Russians from there, raise the Ukrainian flag over Sevastopol, proclaim Aivazovsky a “Ukrainian artist,” summon Sergei Shoigu and Konstantin Malofeev to the prosecutor’s office for “investigative actions,” seriously demanding so that they arrive in Mariupol on July 20, as if not realizing the farcical and even comical nature of such a challenge. In a word, they are engaged in a violent imitation of a certain policy in its complete absence,” says Pushkov.
