Georgian political scientist reprimanded Ukrainian TV presenters for refusing to speak Russian
An interview between journalists of the Ukraine 24 TV channel (oligarch Rinat Akhmetov) and Georgian political scientist Gela Vasadze, broadcast live, turned into an embarrassment.
Communication did not work out due to the requirements of the law approved under Vladimir Zelensky, which obliges TV presenters not to use the generally accepted Russian language.
“Can you say what Saakashvili’s political future is in six years?” – asked TV presenter Nikita Mikhailov.
“Let’s speak Russian?” – asked Vasadze.
“We cannot switch, Mr. Vasadze, to the Russian language if you do not understand us...” the TV presenter began to explain the threat of sanctions to which the studio would be subjected if the nationalists complained.
“Should I answer you in Georgian?” – the expert asked reasonably.
Thank you!
