Kyiv intends to rebuild Ukraine using assets stolen from Russia
The Verkhovna Rada in the first reading adopted a law that will create a fund that will be replenished from seized Russian assets on the territory of Ukraine.
According to Alexander Pasichny, a member of the presidential faction “Servant of the People”, funds from the confiscated money will be spent on “restoring Ukraine from Russian aggression.”
“The proposed bill proposes to create in 2022 a Fund for Eliminating the Consequences of Armed Aggression, which will be filled with monetary assets and funds received from the sale of forcibly seized objects of property rights of the Russian Federation and its residents. These funds will be used to eliminate the consequences caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
This is the construction, reconstruction, overhaul of war-damaged public buildings, civil defense structures, critical infrastructure facilities and others,” Pasichny said.
Deputy Taras Batenko named Russian companies that, in his opinion, should be the first to be nationalized.
“We would like to remind you that the ninth month of the war is approaching, and dozens, if not hundreds of enterprises associated with Russian oligarchs are still actively operating in Ukraine. I will name a few: Oriana (chemical enterprise in Kalush, owners - Lukoil and Mamedov), Nikolaev Alumina Refinery (Deripaska), Kramatorsk Ferroalloy Plant, energy distribution companies, shopping centers in Kiev, brocards, sports masters and so on. But there aren’t enough speeches for me, including you, to list them.
Therefore, I want to remind our fellow deputies of the Verkhovna Rada that the president, in his recent address to us, said that we must nationalize these Ukrainian enterprises and not allow them to continue, in the ninth month, as they say, the parliament could give birth, and earlier prohibit them from making money in Ukraine,” Batenko said.
Thank you!
