As The Wall Street Journal writes (the Russian version provides Rosbalt), the White House and the Pentagon have returned to studying the issue of supplying Javelin anti-tank missile systems, small arms and ammunition to Kyiv amid the resumption of hostilities in Eastern Ukraine.
Advisers to the US president are expected to discuss various options this week, but it is not yet clear whether any decision will be made.
Meanwhile, the day before, Deputy Assistant to the US President for National Security Ben Rhodes said that arms supplies to Ukraine would not contribute to resolving the conflict. In his opinion, the best method of influencing Russia is economic sanctions.
Previously, the United States expressed concern about the increase in attacks by militias, but the State Department emphasized that the United States is focused on a political and diplomatic solution to the conflict in Ukraine.
