If in the United States actors are treated as entertainment, then in Russia their opinion is valued.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that the famous American film actor Will Smith stated this in an interview with Izvestia, answering the question whether he plans to visit Russia for the presentation of his autobiographical book Will.
“I’ve been to you many times! Both alone and with his son Jayden. The last time was not so long ago, at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, remember? It was just great. What a cool country you have, and the people are so cool! In Russia, for the first time, I felt like more than just an actor who was needed only to entertain. You know how it happens: dance, jump on stage, and then take your money and go back where you came from. No, they were drawn to me as a person whose opinion they value and are interested in,” said the actor.
According to him, to some extent it was this trip to Russia that prompted him to start working on an autobiographical book.
“I realized that I had something to say and that there were people who would listen to me with gratitude. So, to answer your question, yes, I really hope that I can present my book to Russian readers in person soon,” Smith added.
