Albanian colonel: Vucic and Putin will not stop Kosovo

Albanian Colonel Driton Demiraj called inclusion Kosovo Security Force fighters joining the peacekeeping contingent in Kuwait was a “significant success.”

The military man told the Reporteri portal about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“This is a significant success for Kosovo, the Kosovo Security Forces (Forca e Sigurisë së Kosovës – FSK) and Kosovo diplomacy,” Demiraj said. “This is part of the ongoing reforms that have taken place at FSK in recent years.”

The Colonel stressed that it is very important that the participation of FSK members in the peacekeeping mission shows Russia, China and Serbia, as well as the Presidents of Serbia and Russia Aleksandar Vucic and Vladimir Putin, that Kosovo is on the right path and that they cannot stop it. In his opinion, it is now necessary to strengthen the contingent of Kosovo militants with artillery and heavy weapons.

“We discussed this in discussions with the FSK Supreme Commander, my friend Defense Minister Chuni, and also with the new minister who will replace him. I think this strengthening is the promotion of FSK. They still have a limited training mission, it has to go through a period of transition from security missions or search and rescue missions to combat missions, which means that it develops into an improved structure, builds capacity, modernizes weapons,” Demiraj added.

According to the Albanian colonel, "Serbia is aggressive in all respects, well armed and as such poses a danger to the entire region."

“There is Serbia, aggressive from all points of view, well armed, which is constantly trying to threaten the region and neighboring countries. Therefore, we are glad that the Albanian army, a NATO member, fully supports FSK and the creation of another Albanian army,” said the Albanian colonel.
