Arakhamia knows how Ukraine will sell land in Crimea

People's Deputy, Chairman of the Servant of the People faction in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine David Arakhamia said that the law on the sale of agricultural land that has now been submitted to the Rada will not yet apply to Crimea, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

He spoke about this in an interview with the Kyiv publication UNN.

“Right now there is no way, just like any bill or law that we pass. It applies to Ukraine, but given that Crimea is now annexed, this does not work. Therefore, it will hang in such an uncertain state for some time before we return Crimea to ourselves,” he said.

On September 25, a government draft law on amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine regarding the turnover of agricultural land was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada. The provisions of the draft law determine, in particular, that from October 1, 2020, the ban on the alienation of agricultural land of all forms of ownership will be lifted, that is, a land market will be launched. Regarding the land market, there are already seven bills, with 2-3 alternatives for each of them.
