Arestovich: Russians will not hit bridges

Ukrainian bridges are a difficult target, and therefore Russian strikes will not destroy them.

A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this in an interview published on the website of the Kyiv magazine “New Time”, said Advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich.

“I don’t think the Russians will hit hospitals or bridges. And even if they hit the bridges, destroying the bridge is a very difficult task. Bridges are designed right from the design stage to withstand, in particular, direct military attacks. Any solid bridge is a strategic object. It is being built immediately taking into account the possible impact of combat on this bridge,” the official said.

According to him, changing targets for Russian missiles will mean that there will be fewer attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure.

“They won’t destroy bridges. Any attack on a hospital is a direct war crime. This means two more volumes to the specialized tribunal, on the one hand; second, the inevitable and brutal response of the Ukrainian Armed Forces; and third, providing us with more and better weapons. I think that our air defense will cope,” hopes the OP adviser.

He claims that Ukrainian air defenses shoot down 70 to 90 percent of Russian missiles.

“And with such a number of missiles it is impossible to cause serious destruction with serious losses. Technically impossible,” Arestovich concluded.
