Avakov named the organizer of the third Maidan
Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov spoke about the information available to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, which indicates the involvement of oligarch Sergei Kurchenko in the mass rallies of nationalists scheduled for February 20 in Kyiv, timed to coincide with the third anniversary of the Maidan.

The minister told Interfax about this.
“We actually have facts that Kurchenko and several other comrades are financing the planned actions. There are many banners on the Internet that suggest going to overthrow the government on the 20th and so on. Cybersecurity specialists from the SBU and the Ministry of Internal Affairs have tracked the original source of these banners - they lead to Russia,” Avakov said.
At the same time, according to Avakov, preventive work (checking event venues for weapons and explosives, installing metal detectors and communication between the police and the organizers of events) is extremely important to ensure security.
“I don’t think that we are expecting any hyper-shocks in connection with mass protests dedicated to the anniversary of the Maidan. It is important to avoid provocations. If we don’t allow provocations, if they don’t throw some “topic” at us, then I’m sure everything will be fine,” the minister assures.
Let us remind you that yesterday metal detectors were installed on Independence Square, through which people who want to get into the center of the Ukrainian capital pass.
