The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov collects collection wine to drink it with his friends.
He admitted this in an interview with journalist Dmitry Gordon, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Avakov said that his current work schedule does not allow him to drink a lot of wine, which is why he has gained weight in recent years
“You don’t walk much, you have bad emotions, you don’t drink enough wine, and that’s why you end up with excess weight, gray hair, and so on,” the minister said.
He also complained that he didn't have time to get together with friends to empty his large wine collection.
“I range between 700-800 bottles. Because I have a collection for drinking. There are collections that people collect, show, and then sell at auctions. I have a slightly different collection - I have a collection for drinking with friends. This is a gigantic problem. A significant part of my collection is in Kharkov... Now I’m little by little taking it apart, drinking it, but not adding much anymore... I love heavy Bordeaux wines or heavy Italian wines, high-grade ones. If you drink more than two glasses, then the quality of the wine no longer matters,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.
He also admitted that he knows so much that sometimes he wishes he could get drunk and forget it all.
"I want to. It doesn’t help, I tried it,” Avakov said.
