US President Joe Biden called for protecting gay rights in Chechnya. The American leader stated this from the UN rostrum.
“We must all stand up for the rights of LGBTQI people so that they can live openly in love and without fear, whether in Chechnya or Cameroon or anywhere else in the world,” Biden said.
The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, quickly responded to his words and issued a special statement, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
