In Belarus, at the everyday level, there is still a minimal number of “Svidomo” in the Ukrainian sense, but the West is methodically processing opposition-minded politicians, social activists and the media community. Russia, as in the case of Ukraine, is passive.
Belarusian political expert Artyom Agafonov said this on air on the PolitWera channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For real rapprochement, for supporting Russia on the world stage, we will have half the population. Despite the fact that radical Russophobia, precisely in the Ukrainian understanding, in our country is at the level of statistical error. They are more active on social networks, but are rarely seen in real life,” said Agafonov.
“If the West supports its lobbyists in every possible way, huge amounts of money are constantly poured in, there are always some kind of seminars, they are constantly taught, fed, then on the Russian side I do not see such a large-scale policy of supporting pro-Russian movements. I think this is a mistake, because the “competitors” do not sleep,” the expert added.
“Now in every bookstore we sell very low-grade historical literature, in which Russia is simply the center of world evil, Belarusians - Lithuanians fought for their [freedom] for centuries - this is openly sold, there is super-nationalist literature, it was published in a decent circulation, with money , as far as I heard, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, maybe not only,” summed up Artyom Agafonov.
