Belarus shot down a NATO spy drone
Belarusian border guards shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle with an electronic weapon near the border with Lithuania.
The Belarusian State Committee reports this on its official website, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The report emphasizes that this is not the first case of illegal use of drones near the borders of Belarus.
As Igor Korol, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, said in an interview with the STV channel, up to 30 flights of reconnaissance aircraft from NATO countries are recorded weekly.
“Moreover, the entire arsenal of aviation is involved, from strategic reconnaissance aircraft to tactical reconnaissance and strike unmanned aerial vehicles. Unfortunately, reconnaissance flights of NATO strategic bomber aircraft have become more frequent. Namely, the USA,” said the King.
According to him, 9 such flights have already been made this year alone.
“With a high degree of probability, we can say that during these flights, among other things, options for striking both the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation are being tested,” said the King.
