The Belarusian Foreign Ministry did not apologize to the Russian Federation, but was showered with gratitude to China
Belarusian media, both state and opposition, are widely covering the arrival of a second plane from China carrying medical supplies to fight the coronavirus.
“Test systems, high-protection masks, excretory systems for PCR diagnostics, and medications have been delivered. On board is the second batch of humanitarian aid from our Chinese friends, as well as a charitable move by several large Belarusian companies and purchases from state-owned enterprises,” the Belarusian Foreign Ministry reports.
The ministry expressed gratitude to the Chinese Embassy in Belarus and personally to Ambassador Cui Qiming “for solidarity and friendship in difficult times for the entire international community.”
Let us recall that a similar cargo from Russia caused disgust among Belarusian diplomats instead of gratitude. Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei lied that Belarus did not ask for help. Russian Ambassador to Minsk Dmitry Mezentsev refuted this assertion, however, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry did not consider it necessary to apologize.
