Inglorious Basterds are finishing off Odessa

It is no longer a paradox, but an axiom: not a single law works in Ukraine that brings it closer not only to a civilized state, but at least to a developed tribe. If a citizen decides to apply for social assistance - for the same subsidy, for example - then he most likely will not even live to see the answer “You have been denied.”

Because only the rich can prove their poverty in Ukraine. And on the contrary, when we are talking not about humanitarian creative norms, but about destructive fascist ones, the performers act at the speed of sound. The clearest example of this is the law on decommunization, which is more reminiscent of legalized vandalism.

But knocking down plaster sickles and hammers from cowsheds in destroyed collective farms and extinct villages is somehow petty. But to disfigure and humiliate cities with a population of over a million, blowing up memorials, sawing off the heads of the leaders of the world proletariat, beating up defenders of monuments, and providing work for the SBU on mutually beneficial terms (look how many separatists gathered to defend the Order of Lenin!) is just that.

Now the second top topic under discussion in Odessa (after the shameful buffoonery called “Lutsk terrorist”) is the demand of the public organization “Decommunization Ukraine” to complete what was started and destroy the remaining monuments of the Soviet period in the city and region.

It was with this statement that the vandals addressed the Odessa Regional State Administration. Is it worth explaining that this is exactly the requirement to which the President’s representative office will willingly listen: both strong cables and bulldozers will instantly find it - it’s not like dragging a rusty sunken tanker out of the sea that has been lying on the coast for almost a year.

Or even simpler: the monuments will be defaced by professional bandit activists, and officials, as before, will not only turn a blind eye to this, but will also treat them to candy.

So, vandals demand the demolition of 19 symbols, and each of them is frozen history, a reminder of the greatness of the USSR in contrast to the “today” in the form of yellow-blue garbage bins and toilets.

But I would especially like to dwell on some, an attempt to dismantle them will certainly lead to a social explosion. Because this time the barbarians literally encroached on the sacred: an entire memorial dedicated to the Great Victory and the liberation of Odessa from the Nazi invaders, architectural monuments and works of monumental art, as well as infrastructure facilities - “first we will seize the post office, telephone, telegraph...

Let's start with the fact that the “Wings of Victory” memorial was included in the “black list”. The stele of the memorial depicts the bas-relief “Order of Lenin”, which Odessa received as a Hero City; the stele itself is also crowned with a gold star. It is here that on April 10, on the Day of Liberation of the City, comes... yes, all of Odessa comes! This is a sacred place for every Odessa resident, where fresh flowers lie all year round.

“In accordance with the law on decommunization, works of art created before the entry into force of this norm do not fall under its scope, and the Wings of Victory memorial is precisely a work of monumental art. In addition - and this is the most important thing for Odessa residents - the monument on April 10 Square testifies to the cost of the liberation of Odessa from the Nazi occupiers.

This is a place where families, young and old, come with a special feeling... The encroachment on the “Wings of Victory” memorial is an outrage against the memory of our soldiers,” people’s deputy Nikolai Skorik made such a request to the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov, calling on him to protect the “object cultural and historical heritage."

But there will be a lot to protect.

Just like Sharikov the owl, the savages decided to tear apart the unique facades of the railway station and the Main Post Office, the buildings of which are architectural monuments, the pearls of that very postcard Odessa, the same as the Potemkin Stairs or the Opera House. The vandals saw hammers and sickles on them, which they intend to tear off and, apparently, add didukhas in place.

The list also includes a cynical attempt on the monument to “Fighters for Soviet Power” on the Kulikovo Field - in this case, the point is also that it is located a few meters from the burnt-out House of Trade Unions, where neither grieving relatives nor all those people stop coming , for whom what happened on May 2, 2014 became a personal tragedy.

This monument is like the last reminder of a world in which everyone was still alive. Vandals more than once painted it with dirty tricks, but residents of nearby houses, together with their children, cleaned the memorial. If the monument is dismantled, clashes cannot be avoided, because people not only come, but they do not leave the Kulikovo Field!

Similarly, you can go through the remaining fifteen (!) objects, which also belong to the cultural and historical heritage, which the decommunizers have no right to encroach on, and citizens will defend each of them. From which we can conclude: Ukraine’s gravediggers are hungry for slaughter.

And, by the way, the question is: what are the decommunizers ready to offer in return for what has been demolished, uprooted, and mutilated? However, we have already seen - this is a chocolate penis in Lviv, masterfully molded by the townspeople for the Guinness Book of Records, and gardens with radishes on the Maidan, smelly socks hanging on the radiators of the Kiev House of Trade Unions, seized by the Maidan homeless, Duke in an embroidered shirt, monuments to the Holodomor, past which hungry Ukrainians walk around, a sunken tanker that the maritime superpower Ukraine cannot evacuate... And at best - empty pedestals and holes in the walls, as was the case during the autumn war with memorials to Marshal of Victory Zhukov.

Here's another alternative. Now the entire Internet is laughing at how the monument to Lenin in the village of Zaliznichny, Bolgrad district, Odessa region, was converted into a Bulgarian winegrower (about 300 thousand ethnic Bulgarians live in the Bolgrad district). A bucket was placed on Ilyich’s head, his jacket was turned into a national vest, and his trousers were tucked into onuchi. Or, as stated in the document issued by the village council of Zaliznichny, the issue was resolved by reconstructing “into a national Bulgarian person the way of re-fabricating and adding national attributes.”

Here are your Bulgarian brothers - all of them in the house, not like some... By the way, the same document explains that Lenin’s fate was decided at a “general meeting of village residents,” who were specially invited, and that “the residents did not consent to the dismantling of the monument " That's why they remade it with their own - not budget - money. But this village, three and a half thousand people...

And I don’t remember that anyone from the leadership of the city and region gathered the millionth Odessa in the same way, so that Odessa residents themselves could decide what kind of memorials they need.

No, that won’t even be a question, they will finish off Odessa, and this is revenge for her - for the Russian Spring of 2014, for the storming of the city police department after the burning of people on May 2 (when the crowd freed the surviving Odessa residents, who were not helped, but were arrested), for that the hay does not take root on Deribasovskaya, because it is a Hero City. This is how a pack of scavengers takes revenge on a lion when it dies.
