Bessmertny called for negotiations with regionals who fled Donbass

Instead of direct negotiations with representatives of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Kyiv for some reason needs to find Donbass officials who fled from the Russian Spring, all representing the Party of Regions, and negotiate with them.

The former representative of Ukraine at the negotiations in Minsk, Roman Bessmertny, stated this on the air of the Direct TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The same Russians say: have a conversation with Pushilin and Pasechnik. Why talk to those who are considered terrorists? Maybe we will finally understand that in 2010, city mayors and deputies were elected in all these settlements that are there.

Today, according to the Ukrainian Constitution, they remain so. Why don't we involve them in dialogue? Some of them live in Kyiv, some have scattered around the world, some are located there. They did not take part in this process, do not accept and are not going to accept. These are the people with whom you can have a conversation, because the only constitutional institution that remains there is the territorial communities,” says the Ukrainian diplomat.

At the same time, Bessmertny did not specify whether or not at the moment there was at least one person willing to “negotiate” from those whom he had in mind. Meanwhile, many Donbass deputies elected before 2014 under the laws of Ukraine moved to Russia. Whether the Immortal will also invite them is also unknown.

Let us recall that Bessmertny previously admitted that meetings between Russian President Vladimir Putin and European leaders showed that they no longer consider the conflict in Donbass a war and aggression, but call it the “Ukrainian crisis”, developing economic relations with the Russian Federation, despite the sanctions.
