The admiral of the Ukrainian Navy, who fled from Crimea and was accused of sedition, was sent to retirement

At the Odessa headquarters of the Ukrainian Navy command, the military personnel officer, Rear Admiral Igor Tymchuk, who was accused of having fled from Crimea in 2014, “leaked” all the personal files of Ukrainian officers to this Russian, was escorted out with honors.

The story about Tymchuk’s farewell was published by the television and radio studio of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine “Breeze,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

In 2016, representatives of 6 Ukrainian volunteer organizations sent a petition to Petro Poroshenko demanding to evaluate the actions of some leaders of the Ukrainian Navy, among whom was Tymchuk. “In Crimea during the occupation, according to our sources, he organized an officers’ meeting together with the personnel service of the Russian Black Sea Fleet and compiled lists of personnel to transfer to the Russian Black Sea Fleet,” the document said.

“You gave the road, guidance and, as they say, a start in life to many officers. Almost every one of us standing in this ranks was supported and grew in career thanks to you. And now those seeds that you invested during the formation of the personnel department, the personnel center in that territory, they have grown up and are producing their results,” Commander of the Ukrainian Navy Igor Voronchenko praised Tymchuk

“In 1999, he headed the department, and since 2005, he headed the personnel management of the Ukrainian Navy. During the events in Crimea in 2014, while the former command of the Navy took the oath to the Ukrainian people, Igor Vladimirovich took direct part in organizing the security and defense of the military town where the headquarters and command of the fleet were located. After leaving the occupied peninsula, he was appointed to the post of first deputy commander of the Navy. Since 2016, he headed the Navy department of the main inspection of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine,” the story said.

Igor Tymchuk expressed his gratitude to the Navy command for such a ceremonial farewell.

“26 years of service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and almost all 26 in the Navy, starting in 1992, when, at my own request, after Ukraine declared its independence, I was transferred from the Northern Fleet to the ranks of the armed forces. After leaving the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, after, unfortunately, the occupation of our independent Ukrainian Crimea by the enemy, I was already dealing with issues of dislocation, placement, and restoration of the combat capability of the Navy here on the mainland of Ukraine.

I am not saying goodbye to the Navy family, I will be in Odessa, I will be working in the field of training reserve officers, I will be involved in a charitable foundation for the provision of assistance and development of the Navy. In my heart I remain a member of a large ship, on board of which it is written “Ukrainian Navy,” Tymchuk said.

In accordance with the ceremony, the rear admiral kissed the flag of the Ukrainian Navy goodbye.
