The blogger apologized to Donbass for the Ukrainian flag in Crimea
Blogger Alena Bardovskaya made a public apology to the citizens of the LDPR for her “social experiment”, during which the girl took pictures with the Ukrainian flag in Crimean cities.
“I don't watch news or political talk shows, so I made a huge mistake. Therefore, I want to sincerely apologize to the guys who live in the LPR and DPR. Because for them this flag is a symbol of war, grief, problems. I understood this,” Bardovskaya said live on the First Crimean TV channel.
She repeated several times that the main goal of her story, which was perceived by many as a provocation, was to show Ukrainians that Crimea is absolutely safe for them, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine is waging an information war against its population. I wanted to speak out against this and show that it is safe for Ukrainians to travel to Crimea,” Bardovskaya said.
She emphasized that she apologizes absolutely voluntarily - after she understood the situation. No one in the Crimean authorities put pressure on her or intimidated her. According to the blogger, her the action caused a negative reaction not only in Russia, but also in Ukraine.
"They (Ukrainian media, – ed.) are not popularizing this story, because I calmly walked past the police, military, and the Russian National Guard. This is unacceptable to them. They would need to take me under their white hands and take me to the basement to interrogate,” Bardovskaya said.
