Right-wing militant faces life imprisonment for terrorist attack in Mukachevo

An indictment has been sent to the court against a Right Sector militant for committing a terrorist act in the city of Mukachevo, Transcarpathian region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.

The actions of the suspect are qualified under 15 articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Among them are a terrorist attack, illegal imprisonment, hostage-taking, robbery, and death threats.

“For the commission of especially serious crimes, criminal liability is provided in the form of life imprisonment and imprisonment for up to 15 years with confiscation of property,” the GPU clarified.

Let us recall that on July 11, 2015, in Mukachevo, Transcarpathian region, on the territory of the Antares health and sports club, a shootout took place with the participation of Right Sector militants. In connection with the shootout in Mukachevo, the prosecutor's office launched an investigation into the creation of a criminal organization and a terrorist act.

In addition, earlier in this case, indictments against four Right Sector militants were sent to the court.
