Bogomolets: Doctors will leave seriously ill Ukrainians to die

If the coronavirus spreads massively, medical care will be provided only to those diagnosed with a moderately severe disease.

People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 8th convocation, Honored Doctor of Ukraine Olga Bogomolets stated this in a commentary on Magnolia-TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“If people followed the quarantine correctly, there would be no need to declare an emergency. If you are told to stay at home, please stay at home. If you are 150th in line, this line will never reach you. People will simply lie on the street; they will not be seen in the hospital as it was in the first months of the war. We didn’t have enough doctors at the front, so we chose who to provide assistance to.

I want to explain how triage occurs in such emergency conditions so that you can understand. When many patients are admitted at the same time, but there are only a couple of doctors in the hospital, a more experienced one comes out and divides the patients into three large groups.

The first is the heaviest, no one approaches them, no one helps them. Medium weight and light. The lungs remain and help each other. Doctors help only moderate cases, those who can still be helped. Therefore, anyone who is in severe form, just don’t expect that hands will reach you. These are not horror stories, they are simply from medical experience, from the experience of war. Please stay at home,” Bogomolets said.
